Learn Commerce and Classical Dance

Ramaa Shankar worked as a Senior Post Graduate Teacher from Notre Dame School, New Delhi where she taught Accountancy & Business Studies for classes
11 & 12 for about 30 years. Teaching is her passion of choice. Accountancy, business studies, classical dance, and creative choreography are the four fronts of her prescriptive pedagogy.

Ramaa completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Commerce, with Honours, both from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education, a Master’s in Business Administration, and cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET). Her academic credentials and pedagogic experience are bolstered and balanced by her forays and achievements in classical dance.

A top-grade artiste of Doordarshan Kendra, India, she is known for her proficiency in the classical dance forms of Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam. She focuses on making classical dance relevant for the present generation and attempts to weave it with learning for effectiveness. Some of her recent forays have been to stress upon water conservation through a Kuchipudi dance recital on Doordarshan, teaching Henri Fayol’s principles of management through choreography recognised by CBSE and the presentation of dance ballets on themes of Gandhian principles, national integration, and global harmony.
